Maple/Walnut/Redwood
This table was designed and built as a traveling RV table. Notions of portability and durability led to the suitcase like form, allowing easy setup, transportation, and stowing. The angled legs provide lateral stability in uneven roadside use with hard, cross grain walnut feet to protect the birch end grain from rough ground. The birch frame is contrasted with walnut accents and is capped with a reclaimed redwood top surface reclaimed from old fence boards from the client’s longtime home.
Reclaimed redwood from the client’s old fence added a sentimental touch
Maple finger joints reinforced with dowels create a sturdy frame
Cross grain walnut feet and handle add touches of contrast
